Welcome to Brangus.net

The result of careful breeding since 1912, Brangus cattle are a sturdy breed. The International Brangus Breeders Association (IBBA) first met in 1949 and registered the trademark Brangus as 5/8's Angus and 3/8's Brahman.

The IBBA selects foundation cattle from the Angus and Brahman associations before enrolling subsequent offspring in the IBBA. The sire and dam must both be registered in the IBBA. The resulting Brangus provides significant advantages from both breeds of cattle. The Angus side allows for excellent conversion into meat and provides considerable milking capabilities. They are also fertile cattle. The Brahman have outstanding disease resistance and maternal instinct. The Brangus thus is a decent beef cattle, able to cope with a variety of environments without a diminished meat or milk production capacity. The Brangus can respond equally to plentiful feed or lesser amounts.

The IBBA provides a wide range of services to ranchers interested in Brangus cattle, from linking interested buyers and sellers to certifying Brangus cattle. The IBBA also hosts and runs numerous cattle sales and shows across the country.
